No Last-Factory Stall (Azul)
Community discussions around Azul speed frequently target end-of-round think time. This rule keeps rounds moving.
When only one factory remains, active player has 20 seconds to draft. If no pick is made, draw one random color from that factory.
2-Player Neutral Factory (Azul)
A known Azul two-player variant adds interaction pressure that 3-4 player games naturally create.
Set up one additional neutral factory. At the start of each round, fill it normally, but either player may draft from it.
Azul Party Sips (Azul)
This light Azul drinking game format is used for casual nights where penalties should stay social and quick.
Take one sip for each tile sent to your floor. If you finish a full row, assign two sips to another player.
Two-Tile Preview Draft (Azul)
Azul groups use this draft variant to reduce pure top-deck factory luck and increase tactical planning.
At round start, each player may look at two random tiles from the bag, keep one as a private reserve, and return the other.
Soft Floor Penalty for Teaching (Azul)
This beginner Azul house rule lowers punishment for new players and keeps first sessions competitive.
In rounds 1 and 2 only, reduce each floor-line penalty by 1 point. From round 3 onward, standard penalties apply.
