Splendor
Noble Draft Opening (Splendor)
Splendor communities often draft nobles at setup to reduce random noble mismatch and improve strategic direction from turn one.
Reveal two extra nobles. In reverse player order, each player selects one noble that can visit only them this game.
Reserve Tax Token (Splendor)
This Splendor house rule counters reserve spam and keeps development tempo high in competitive groups.
If a player reserves a second card on consecutive turns, they must return one gem token to the bank after taking gold.
Target 18 for New Players (Splendor)
Families use this Splendor kids variant to shorten sessions and keep focus during early strategy learning.
Play to 18 points instead of 15 for experienced groups, or 12 points for kids and first-time players.
Open Market Refresh (Splendor)
A common Splendor pacing tweak reduces dead markets and stale turns when all visible options are weak.
Once per round, if no player bought a tier-2 or tier-3 card, refresh one face-up card in each tier.
Two-Player Shared Gold Cap (Splendor)
Splendor two-player tables use this cap to prevent long gold-token hoarding loops and improve interactive timing.
In 2-player Splendor, keep only 4 gold tokens in the bank. When empty, no reserves grant replacement gold.
